Fragrance Care

FRAGRANCE CARE.

A bottle of unopened quality fragrance should stay fresh for at least 4 years if kept away from light and heat.

Avoid extreme temperatures when storing fragrances. They are best stored in a cool dark place, a bedroom drawer is ideal.

Avoid storing perfume in the bathroom or similar places with fluctuating temperatures and humidity as it may cause it to degrade.

Keep fragrances tightly capped upright in their box out of direct sunlight.

Fragrances should not be kept in the fridge, the cold may have an adverse affect on the constituent parts and may cause it to congeal. There is also a great risk of foodstuffs absorbing the scent.

Exposure to the air should be kept to a minimum as it may cause deterioration.

Remember, to coin a phrase, `use it, or lose it`. A fragrance will diminish over time, enjoy it whilst it?s still in the prime of its life.

It can be difficult to decide if a perfume `off`, a change in color, particularly darkening, may indicate deterioration but not always. Trust your nose, if a perfume develops a bitter or sour note, it's had it's day.
